To all my family, friends, cheerleaders, champions, good people & “dancers of life”…You have moved me to write this blog and to share what inspires me to help others, despite the fact that I am no writer-so please do pardon my spelling & grammatical errors. OY!
All it takes is one person to believe in you and now it’s time for me to play it forward.
Today was one of those days where I needed a pep talk after suffering the blues from my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving.
I love everything about what the holiday represents, but what I relish most about this day is that we get to take a moment to say thanks to all the people we are grateful for. It’s no secret that I ADORE cooking food and decorating tables. So, all the prepping for Thanksgiving gets me excited. Any moment I get, I love to CELEBRATE and that means with food! I grew up in a big family and food played a large role in our everyday gatherings.
I was messaging with a dear friend, creative genius, someone I greatly believe in and he shared this moving story with me.In April of this year,he showed me some of his magnificent & intricate beaded designs and I knew I had to help get the word out about them. So, I reached out to friend who values my opinion and he connected me with someone else, who connected me with several people who never got back to me. I pursued or should I say STALKED the buyers who eventually got back to me. Eight months later, my friend’s designs will be sold in Australia, London & the US.
The most important and moving part of this giving back story is that the beader of these mirrors supports 16 family members. He is now able to employ some family members to complete this order, teach them skills, create jobs and put meals on the table and that my friend’s is what playing it forward is all about.
If we can’t rise together and share our success…what is the point?
I hope that this holiday season you enjoy giving.
Giving is Grand,
